Collective density fluctuations of strange metals with critical Fermi surfaces

چکیده

Recent spectroscopic measurements in a number of strongly correlated metals that exhibit non-Fermi liquid like properties have observed evidence anomalous frequency and momentum-dependent charge-density fluctuations. Specifically, the strange metallic regime cuprate superconductors, there is featureless particle-hole continuum exhibiting unusual power-laws, experiments suggest plasmon mode decays into this manner distinct from expectations conventional Fermi theory. Inspired by these new experimental developments, we address nature low-energy collective modes continua for different "solvable" lattice models liquids host critical surface -- sharp electronic without any quasiparticles. We scrutinize theoretically possible existence long-lived zero-sound mode, which renormalized to plasma presence long-ranged coulomb interactions, its decay over wide range frequencies momenta. Quite remarkably, some analyzed here can account certain aspects universal observations, clearly lie beyond purview standard

Quantum-critical fluctuations in 2D metals: strange metals and superconductivity in antiferromagnets and in cuprates.

The anomalous transport and thermodynamic properties in the quantum-critical region, in the cuprates, and in the quasi-two dimensional Fe-based superconductors and heavy-fermion compounds, have the same temperature dependences. This can occur only if, despite their vast microscopic differences, a common statistical mechanical model describes their phase transitions. The antiferromagnetic (AFM)-...

Critical behavior of density of states near Fermi energy in low-dimensional disordered metals

We study the effect of electron-electron interaction on the one-particle density of states DOS d ,T of low-dimensional disordered metals near Fermi energy within the framework of the finite temperature conventional impurity diagram technique. We consider only diffusive limit and, by a geometric resummation of the most singular first-order self-energy corrections via the Dyson equation, we obtai...

Local fluctuations in quantum critical metals

We show that spatially local, yet low-energy, fluctuations can play an essential role in the physics of strongly correlated electron systems tuned to a quantum critical point. A detailed microscopic analysis of the Kondo lattice model is carried out within an extended dynamical-mean-field approach. The correlation functions for the lattice model are calculated through a self-consistent Bose-Fer...

Fermi surfaces of single layer dielectrics on transition metals

Single sheets of hexagonal boron nitride on transition metals provide a model system for single layer dielectrics. The progress in the understanding of h-BN layers on transition metals of the last 10 years are shortly reviewed. Particular emphasis lies on the boron nitride nanomesh on Rh(111), which is a corrugated single sheet of h-BN, where the corrugation imposes strong lateral electric fiel...
